Explore diaper bags designed for organised outings with your little ones.
Hooray! Your family is growing! Whether you’re adding another bundle of joy to your current brood or the first two are coming all at once, some big changes are on the horizon, and probably on the strollers front too. At first, the thought of manoeuvring a double stroller in Singapore might seem impossible. But fear not, we’ve scoured the market to bring you double strollers that are perfectly suited for Singapore life. The brief; double strollers that are slimline, compact and collapsible. UPPAbaby, Mountain Buggy and Stokke YOYO (formerly known as BABYZEN) came out on top, and why would we offer anything but the top?
A double stroller is an investment. It is something that needs to stand the test of time, fit in with your life, and most importantly, it needs to make life easier, not harder! The right double stroller will do just that. Being able to bundle up the kids safely in one place and get out and about is essential for getting places on time, or maybe at all!
Different Types of Double Strollers
In the world of single strollers, there are many, many options, styles, features and things to consider. Then, when we move to double strollers, there are double as many! We’d forgive you for feeling a little overwhelmed. Let us walk you through the main styles of double strollers and highlight some of the benefits and things to be aware of.
Inline Strollers
Inline, aka tandem strollers, see one child sitting in front or above, the other on a wheelbase that is usually no wider than a single stroller. They’re great for accommodating children of different ages, where one is in a bassinet or carrycot while the other sits upright in a standard seat.
Pros:
- High level of manoeuvrability - can squeeze through the crowds at a hawker centre at lunchtime!
- Are often convertible and can adjust from a single stroller to a double with the right stroller accessories.
- Allow for different seating combinations.
Cons:
- May not be able to accommodate newborn twins.
- Limited storage space - often, one child sits where the under-seat basket would be.
- One child may have limited visibility as they sit behind the other seat. Back seat riders beware.

Side-by-Side Strollers
Side-by-side or twin strollers seat your kids (as the name suggests) side by side, often, but not always, in two identical seats. They are great for twins, but they also work for kids with a decent age gap.
Pros:
- Both seats are precisely the same, no squabbles over who gets the ‘good’ seat.
- Lots of storage space in the under-seat basket.
- Kids sit next to each other, allowing them to interact. (This really is a pro for some families!)
Cons:
- Wiiiiide. There’s a reason why some families refer to their double stroller as ‘the tank’.
- Usually, forward-facing seats, making parent-child interactions more difficult.
- Kids sit next to each other, allowing them to interact. (And it’s very much a con for other families!)

Sit and Stand Strollers
These are most often single strollers with an attachment that allows an older child to stand or sometimes sit or lean behind the main seat. These are great for families with a big kid who’s too cool to go in a stroller but still sometimes needs a break from walking.
Pros:
- The board attachment adds very little weight to single or compact strollers, keeping them compact!
- They’re pretty fun! It’s likely your big kid will really like the experience, as riding takes a little balancing on their part, similar to a scooter or skateboard.
- They are definitely the most affordable solution for getting two kids around.
Cons:
- Your child is not strapped in; using a buggy board requires a certain amount of cooperation from them.
- Not ideal for steep or uneven terrain.
- No good if your child is really tired and might like a little kip.
