Elvie Electric Breast Pump

Elvie Pump takes approximately two hours to reach full charge and the charge lasts for about two and a half hours, although this will vary depending on the intensity setting.

Elvie Pump comes with a 24mm and 28mm breast shield (often called a flange), a pack of two 21mm breast shield is also available to purchase.

Elvie's Breast Shields are sized based on the width of the base of your nipple. You can measure the width of the base of your nipple with a ruler. The Breast Shield sizes are as follows:

• Base of nipple width between approximately 16mm and 18mm = 21mm breast shield
• Base of nipple width between approximately 18mm and 21mm = 24mm breast shield
• Base of nipple width between approximately 21mm and 25mm = 28mm breast shield

The size of your nipple may change over the course of your breastfeeding journey, so please keep the other Breast Shields that are included in the box in case you need them at a later date.

To determine the correct size, put the Breast Shield on with the sizing symbol facing upwards and place your nipple in the centre of the fit lines. The fit lines should align with the outside of your nipple.

Try different Breast Shields to find the best fit for you - a 24mm and a 28mm are provided with Elvie Electric Breast Pump and if you need a smaller size you can purchase a 21mm.

To comfortably pump on both sides, repeat this process for both nipples to ensure you have the correct Breast Shield for each nipple.

No two nipples point in the same direction so it's also really important to align the Breast Shield to the direction of your nipples when you are putting the breast pump on.

Lanolin cream can be used for lubrication to reduce the likelihood of sore nipples.

Keep the unused Breast Shields in a safe place. Women’s bodies often change during the pumping life cycle, so you may find that another Breast Shield size becomes a better fit.

The Hub
The Hub contains electronics which should be kept dry. A clean, damp cloth can be used to clean the Hub. The black semicircle on the base of the Hub monitors milk volume. Please keep this area dry and clear of residue. Any other cleaning method will be classed as misuse under the warranty.

Cleaning washable components that come into contact with milk prevents the build up of dry milk residue, which can cause the growth of bacteria that may be harmful to you and your baby.

Washable Components - Bottle, Breast Shield, Seal, Valve, Spout

After each use:

Clean washable components

• Rinse in cold, clear water (approx 20°C / 68°F)
• Wash in warm water (approx 30°C / 86°F) using mild dishwashing soap and wipe afterwards with a clean cloth
• Rinse with cold, clear water (approx 20°C/ 68°F) for 10-15 seconds

OR Place on the top shelf of the dishwasher

Once per day:

• Sterilise washable components
• Boil in water for five minutes

OR

Suitable for microwave, steam or cold water sterilising methods. We do not recommend microwave or steam sterilising for more than five minutes. You should always refer to the manufacturers instructions and please be aware that some steam and microwave sterilisers reach high temperatures which may risk warping plastic parts. We do not recommend ultraviolet sterilisation.

Dry completely before assembly.
