UPPAbaby MINU vs UPPAbaby MINU V2 Stroller Comparison
What are the top features in its predecessors that remained in the UPPAbaby Minu V2 Stroller?
Before we look at what's new and different about the Minu V2, let's look at the original features that have made the Minu an all-time favourite baby gear. Known for its lightweight and compact size, the Minu V2 is designed for urban parents who want a full-featured stroller's comfort, convenience, and versatility without the extra heft.
The Minu V2 is perfectly sized for city living
Getting around town with your little one can see you lugging around a long list of baby essentials: stroller, diaper bag, diapers, wipes, clothes, snacks, and more… All this gear gets heavy! Thankfully, the Minu doesn't add much to that; it's a compact, one-hand fold stroller which you can collapse in seconds and get ready for the boot before your Grab/taxi arrives. In addition, at 7.7kg, it has an integrated shoulder strap, so you can easily hang the Minu V2 over your shoulder and tackle those butt-numbing flights of stairs at the malls, even with bub on your hips.
Like its predecessors, the UPPAbaby Minu V2 is durable and robust despite its lightweight chassis. Moreover, it accommodates your baby up to 22.7kg from birth, so you're covered for the coming four years. With the Minu V2—only 51.5cm wide—you can easily drive it through tight spaces like supermarket aisles and busy streets during rush hour. It measures 30.5 x 51.5 x 58.5cm when folded, which is compact enough for you to stash it in the boot, apartment, or at your favourite cafe. Its compact size also allows you to take it along on vacation (together with the UPPAbaby Minu Travel Bag for extra peace of mind). In fact, we did the legwork and wrote a comprehensive guide to travelling with strollers; it's a few minutes read but well worth it!
The Minu V2 is smooth strolling
Strolling on pavements in Singapore can sometimes feel like a bumpy ride because of random cracks and concrete craters, disrupting your baby's nap. Lucky for you, the Minu V2 features an all-wheel suspension, which helps to obliterate some of the bumps for a smoother and comfortable ride. It's perfect for taking bub on long walks at Robertson Quay, Labrador Park, etc.!
What's new with the UPPAbaby Minu V2 Stroller?
The Minu V2 has been redesigned from the ground up with a few nifty upgrades and add-ons for comfort and convenience. It's now fitted with a spring-loaded fold latch, which allows you to fold and unfold easier and smoother than its previous version. A leather bumper bar is also included with purchase for added security.
If you live in Singapore, where it's almost sunny all year round, having a huge UPF50+ sun canopy is extremely important. The new Minu V2 has an upgraded zip-out extendable canopy, offering more sunshade.
UPPAbaby has also made it easier for you to adjust the harness strap for an optimal fit as your child grows. The Minu V2 now comes with a no-rethread harness system for quick and easy adjustments! In addition, the stroller's leg rest is now adjustable to support your little one's legs and feet for a more comfortable experience.
Although the Minu V2 is newborn-ready thanks to its lay-flat seat*, you can now use it with the additional UPPAbaby Bassinet V2 with the Minu bassinet adapters (both sold separately) for snug and comfortable naps on the go. The bassinet allows your baby to lie completely flat and is suitable for overnight sleeping. Please note that the UPPAbaby From Birth Kit doesn't work with the new Minu V2.
*Note: this is the Australian model which lays flat for newborns. The US model does not.
Lastly, its generous and easy-access stroller basket has been redesigned to be deeper than its predecessor and other cabin strollers. It can easily moonlight as a grocery cart to hold your shopping! You can take long walks with bub now that you don't have to pare down on bub's essentials. No more rushing back because you left bub's lovey at home.
Please note that the UPPAbaby Minu V2 we have at PramFox is the Australian model, not the US model. The difference is that the stroller seat on the Australian model lays flat for newborns. The US model does not.
